Lapse of a T - Day (MIDI Based Electronic Dance Music)
Inspired by an EDM piece used in a time-lapsed video of NYC subway, which cycles the chordal progression of {Em, G, D, C}, I composed this MIDI EDM piece with several variants based on the same cycle of chords. What is special about this piece is that, as it is used for time-lapsed video for Boston rail transits (MBTA), many sound sources are coming from the noise or the announcements. Additionally, this piece involves auto-composition technologies from online applications, including MidiMe, Multitrack Chords, and Beat Blender. Links to these applications are also included on this webpage. The MIDI files these applications generate are imported to the DAW for final mixing process.
